Anglesey RNLI lifeboat stations
benefit from cash gift.
The five R.A.O.B (Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes) lodges of the
Bangor and District Province have donated £1,300 to the lifesaving charity,
which will be shared between:-
Holyhead,
Beaumaris, Moelfre and Trearddur Bay RNLI lifeboat stations.
Representatives from the RNLI lifeboat stations met with
David Wright, Chief Officer for the Province in 2005 at Holyhead lifeboat
station on Sunday (25 March) and received their individual cheques for £325.
‘The RNLI was one of our charities of the
year, so we undertook allsorts of fundraising activities such as raffles and
meetings to help raise as much money as possible.
The two R.A.O.B lodges of Amlwch and the three in Holyhead raised £1,300 for
the RNLI and an additional £1,800 for a children’s charity.
We hope the RNLI volunteers will find some good use for the donation.’
Ray Steadman, Lifeboat Press Officer at Holyhead Lifeboat Station, who
helped organise the presentation says.
‘As a charity which relies on voluntary contributions and legacies for
income, the RNLI is indebted to people who give so generously to keep the
lifesaving service afloat.’ Beaumaris RNLI lifeboat station will use the
money to purchase a waterproof handheld GPS and a bracket for their video
projector.
The other stations are deciding the best ways to spend the donation.

and Guild members
On Saturday the 29th May
The Red Arrows gave a 30 minute flying display centered on Beaumaris Pier
The programme was opened at 12:00 hours with a spectacular display by a Hawk
stationed at RAF Valley.
Several thousand
people were enthralled by the flying display which finished with a demonstration
involving the Sea King helicopter and Beaumaris Lifeboat.
The weather was
ideal for the demonstration with high cloud and blue sky.
Apparently the Red Arrows enjoyed the venue and we hope to see them again in the
future.
