Beaumaris Lifeboat Station Built in 2000 to House the Atlantic 75  B768

There are 230 Lifeboat Stations around the UK and rescue 19 people every day.
There are 4.600 Lifeboat Crew Members including 300 women.
14.000 miles of Coastline around the UK.
The R.N.L.I is entirely funded by voluntary contributions and costs over 100 million pounds each year to run..
In 2003 it will cost around £107 million to run the R.N.L.I.   ( £290.000 per day )
For every £1 spent 81 pence is spent on maintaining and replacing the existing lifeboat fleet.
16 pence is used for fundraising and 3 pence for administration.
Any surplus of income is held in the RNLI's reserve fund and used to guarantee the RNLI's boat building programme and other capital projects.
70% of income is raised from legacies.

High Tide in the waters between  Menai Bridge and Britannia Bridge known as the " Swellies "  belies the treacherous rocks below which catch many sailors unaware and  where H.M.S. Conway came to grief.
